Scott Lancaster Shaw was born on February 23, 1952, in Fairmont, MN, to Dean and Bonnie (Lancaster) Shaw. The family moved to Clara City, MN, before eventually settling in Clarkfield. Scott graduated from Clarkfield High School as a member of the Class of 1970 and afterwards attended St. Cloud State University for business.
On June 23, 1973, Scott married his high school sweetheart, Trudy Cornelius. The couple lived in Fairmont, MN, where they welcomed their daughter, Jennifer, on November 4, 1975. They eventually moved to Clarkfield to be closer to family before welcoming their son, Nicholas, on January 11, 1980.
While living in Clarkfield, Scott held a few jobs before eventually purchasing Al's ‘Our Own Hardware’ from his mother and father-in-law, Allen & Ramona Cornelius. Scott and Trudy loved running the hardware store. While Scott was in Clarkfield, he provided for the community in many ways by being on the Clarkfield Fire Dept for 19 years and helping the school as a bus driver. In 1991, Scott and his family moved to Rochester, MN, where Scott was the manager for Browning Ferris Industries before eventually landing at his final job as manager of Woodruff Companies, a plumbing and heating wholesale house. Woodruff was sold and became Dakota Supply Group with whom he worked for several years until he retired. Scott enjoyed lake life on Lake Minnewaska where he loved to fish, spend time with friends and family, and partake in his favorite activity—picking on and spoiling his granddaughters.
