In the early and mid 1950s my brother Rick and I used to walk down our long driveway, cross Hwy 59 and go to Jimmie's house to trade comic books. Time goes by too quickly. Our thoughts are with Jimmie's family.

Deepest sympathy to the entire Varpness family. I loved Jimmie since the time we moved to Clarkfield in 1970. What a welcoming neighbor! Jimmie was always so tenderhearted and cared for everyone. When my kitty got hit by a car, he sat right down on the curb next to me and cried too. He will be sadly missed by all that knew him. Rest well in the arms of the Lord Jimmie James!

Dad was a proud father, husband, grandpa, and great grandpa. He cared about his children in a way that most parents do. He brought us up to be proud of whom we are as well as what we do in life. He once told me that who we are is what we will leave behind when we are gone.
Dad loved to drive fast cars or just drive cars fast. He taught me how to drive when I was 12 years old. Wow what an experience that was. I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.
Dad your journey has ended and now you can let off the gas. Enjoy the peace, serenity and love of those that left before you. We will meet again someday. I look forward to that day and will cherish the people around me as the way you did with us.
In memory of my Dad
Love you always
Doug

I am so sorry for your loss. Al and I spent many great times with Jimmy and family. He always treated everyone special. I always felt welcomed around Jimmy. I remember the long rides we took and going up town in Clarkfield on Friday night. One funny thing I want to share was one day I went to see RoseAnn and Jimmy, and RoseAnn came out of the bathroom soaking wet. She said Jimmy called her in there to tell her something and when she bent over he pulled her into the tub. Boy did he laugh. Remember the good times always.

I miss Jimmy. He was like a dad to me. When I saw him at the casino he always had to give me a hug. Then he would ask my hubby if that was ok with him. You are now at peace. You were a sweetheart. I grew up living across the street from him. My sympathy goes out to RoseAnn and all of the kids, grandkids and great grand kids. Love you Jimmy James. God bless you all. He's reaching down to touch you all and comfort you.
